Musicals

Ive been doing alot of research into 1940s musicals. Eventhough i would like to look into them i think there is some disadvantages to the era which will make my research diffcult to find.

Musicals is not a consistant genre in comparision to a the horror genre where every few weeks a new film is released.

I was a bit confused on what to do as my small scale research, i had four ways i could go:

1) Looking into Musical films and the link to there release year and what society is like. For example there is high anxiety because of war or recession.

2) Leo Dicapro as an star/auteur

3) Danni Boyle as a auteur

4) Jhonny Depp as an auteur.
